Boat and RV Storage in Weston and Wausau

A boat or RV may fit inside a storage unit on paper and still be too tall for the door. Measure the rig first, then compare drive-up maxi units at our Weston and Wausau facilities.

Measure the full rig

Measure length from the trailer tongue to the farthest point at the rear, including a motor, bike rack, or spare tire. Use the widest point for width and include mirrors if they cannot be folded. For height, account for roof equipment, an antenna, or an RV air conditioner. Measure with the vehicle and trailer set up as they will be when you bring them to the facility.

Check the doorway and the approach

Ask for the clear opening and usable interior depth. A unit’s advertised dimensions describe the space and may differ from the door opening. If you will back in, confirm the space in front of the door. If you want a pull-through unit, check that both doors and drive aisles work for your rig.

Plan for access while the unit is occupied

Decide whether you need to open a side door, walk around the boat, or reach a storage compartment. That extra room can matter more than the difference between two advertised sizes. Confirm facility rules before storing a vehicle or any fuel-related equipment.
